Sweet - mild hot pepper Sera Demre (capsicum annuum) is a variety from the southern region of Turkey. Color of the ripe fruits varies from green to red. Green fruits are sweet and hotless, but they become more and more hot as they turn red and are mildly hot when fully ripe to red. Usually picked when green. Fully ripe fruits are less hot than jalapeno.
Peppers are juicy and crispy. In Turkish cuisine, they are often served fried. Green fruits are pickled, ripe fruits can be dried for paprika powder. Due to their mild hotness I love picking them ripen to red and preparing a sweet hot pepper jam for cheese, to glaze roasted chicken, beef or game.
Suitable for growing both in the greenhouse and outdoors. The bush grows up to 70-80 cm. Very productive. Vegetation period 60 days.
