The Crushed Heart variety was developed by Brad Gates in 2016 and presented at Wild Boar Farm, Napa Valley, California, USA. The fruits range in weight from medium to large (100-300 g) and are heart-shaped, irregular, often with elongated, pointed ends. Very meaty, with only a few seeds in the pulp. Light pink with green and yellow stripes and faint anthocyanin blushes. The plant is extremely fertile, indeterminate.
