CRESTE DE FEU" (or "CRESTA DI FUOCO Ochre"), Italy. This is a rare Italian, mid-to-late season, indeterminate variety; the plants reach a height of up to 1.8 meters. The fruits weigh 200–350 g and range in color from chocolate brown to burgundy and ochre; they are round with pronounced ribbing, featuring irregular heart or elongated heart shapes—essentially, they are somewhat heavily ribbed. The flesh is very dense, meaty, and not overly juicy, boasting a rich, slightly sweet, and refreshing flavor with an intense aroma.
The plants are lush and spreading, capable of trailing like a vine. The large fruits display a wonderful blend of bronze, honey, and chocolate hues. Small cavities may be visible when sliced, yet the flesh offers an excellent balance of sweetness and acidity.
