This vigorous heirloom variety was brought to America in the late 19th century from the Black Forest region of Germany by Joe Bratka's grandfather. In 1990 Joe shared seeds with Carolyn Male, and she included it in the 1992 SSE yearbook. A tall, indeterminate plant with regular tomato leaves, it produces 200 to 400g., dark golden fruit with a pinkish marble blush on the cut. The fruit shoulders are slightly ribbed and the fruit is slightly flattened. It has a rich, distinctive sweet flavor that cannot be compared to any other variety. The fruit is almost seedless.
