The seeds of this variety were obtained from the hands of Macedonian growers during vacation visits to local gardeners.
The oxheart from Macedonia is a heritage variety that has been growing for 50 years in one Macedonian farm. The variety is very fertile, and has a fertility gene that has survived to these days. The fruits are nearly seedless. The pulp is thick, bright red, and moderately juicy. Good taste. The plant is indeterminate. It needs supports and to raise bunches, because one bunch grows 3-4 big hearts. Like every heart-shaped variety, the foliage is dropped.
