In 1991 The Seed Savings Exchange was introduced by R. W. Richardson of New York. The original seed was obtained through an exchange with a West Virginia gardener. A very productive variety that produces 15 cm long red oblong fruits with a pointed nose. The fruit has a rich distinctive flavor and few seeds.
