Marinda tomatoes are grown in winter in Sicily and are harvested from February to May. For this reason, they are known as winter tomatoes. The salty soil and water give this variety a taste that is unlike any other. The skin of the fruit is quite thick, crisp, strongly wrinkled. The flesh is firm, the taste is almost salty, slightly pungent. Unlike spring tomatoes, which are suitable for both salads and sauces, this tomato is best as long as it is still green (perfect - with dark green shoulders) and is most commonly used in salads. The plant grows up to 2 m, has regular foliage, forms clusters of 4-5 flower-shaped fruits weighing 100–200 g each.
